Fairly cloudy skies overall, although some sunny spells increasingly breaking through, generally best around western coasts in the afternoon. A few drizzly showers in the morning, and a chance of a local heavier shower over the hills in northern England and the Scottish Highlands by afternoon. Otherwise most places will stay dry. A fresh westerly breeze. Highs 15 to 18C north & west, 19C in central areas, up to 22C south-east.

Saturday night
Clearing skies for most places into the night as pressure builds across the country. Dry overall. Winds dropping light. Local mist patches may form in low-lying areas, although will soon clear after dawn. Cool for all, 10 to 12C in towns, but in the countryside dipping to 7 to 9C, or locally 5C in sheltered valleys in the west & north. Some Scottish glens may see a grass frost around dawn.

Sunday
High pressure extends across the British Isles, bringing a fair day with plenty of sunshine. Cloud tending to fill in a little inland during the day. A chance of an isolated shower over the Scottish hills by afternoon. Rain may reach the west of Ireland later as fronts move in. Coastal sea breezes forming, otherwise the wind very light. Feeling fresh, and the air quite clear. Top temperatures 18 to 22C, up to 24C in the south-east.

Monday
High pressure to the east brings a fair day to much of England, with hazy sunshine best in south-eastern areas. Fronts across the north-west brings rain Ireland, Scotland and also west Wales & north-west England. Some persistent heavy falls possible over the hills. Light winds in the south & east, but breezy in the north & west. Feeling humid, 16 to 19C north & west, 22 to 25C south & east.
