UK Forecast - May 29, 2017
Brighter midweek
Some rain Tuesday, mostly north

Tuesday
Fronts bring outbreaks of rain to Scotland & northern England, but small amounts east of the Pennines. Patchy rain possible for Wales, also passing east across the Midlands by afternoon. Largely dry for the south & south-east. Ireland soon becomes dry as pressure builds. Limited sunshine overall. Brisk westerly winds, strongest in western Scotland. Highs 16 to 20C, warmest south-east. Just 12 to 15C in the north-west.

Tuesday night
Pressure will continue to build from the south-west overnight, bringing dry conditions to most places. A little rain may linger in the far north of Scotland. Blustery winds across northern Britain will ease slowly. Little wind in the south & south-west. Dropping quite cool beneath clear skies, lows 5 to 8C for central & northern Britain, locally colder in sheltered rural areas. Nearer 10C in the south where cloud remains thicker.

Wednesday
A fair day for most as high pressure resides across the country. Plenty of sunshine, although southern counties may see more cloud due to a weak front over the English Channel. Chance of local spots of rain or a brief shower in the south-west. Fairly cloudy for Scotland - risk a little rain for Shetland. Light winds overall. A southerly breeze freshens for Ireland. Highs 16 to 21C, warmest central & eastern areas.

Thursday
High pressure lies to the east of Britain, whilst low pressure is to the north-west, and a front encroaches in from the Atlantic. Much of Britain should stay dry, with sunny spells and feeling warm - best in the east & south-east. Thicker cloud in the west, with outbreaks of rain developing for western Scotland, and rain likely more persistent across Ireland. Strengthening southerly winds. Highs 17 to 23C.
