Slack pressure across the country produces light winds and fair weather for most areas. The remnants of a front situated over western Britain produces cloudy skies and a few spots of rain or a brief shower, but amounts small. Sunshine across eastern counties will tend to give way as fair weather cloud fills in through the day. A cool northerly breeze for East Anglia, whilst the flow turns southerly for Ireland. Highs 11 to 14C.

Friday night
Variable cloud across Britain and Ireland overnight, tending to thicken in the west as fronts encroach from the Atlantic. Most likely dry for all. A few patches of light rain around western coasts. The southerly breeze will tend to freshen, strongest in western areas, particularly Ireland. A touch of frost is possible is sheltered rural areas. Temperatures locally below zero, but lows typically 1 to 5C.

Saturday
High pressure to the east and low pressure to the west promotes a south to south-easterly flow across the British Isles. Generally dry, with sunshine and variable cloud, which will tend to fill in through the day inland. Areas north of high ground best favoured for most sun. A little rain may spread into southern Ireland and south-western Britain later. A freshening breeze through the day. Highs 11 to 15C, coolest north-east.

Sunday
Low pressure and slow-moving fronts bring persistent rain to south-western Britain and Ireland, heavy at times. Outbreaks of rain make slow progress toward central areas of England and north Wales by afternoon and evening. East & northern Britain should escape dry all day with some sunshine, best in northern Scotland. High cloud thickening slowly. Brisk east to south-easterly winds. Highs 11 to 16C, coolest in rain.
