UK Forecast - February 14, 2017
Lots of cloud
Drizzle in west

Wednesday
A cloudy start to the day across most of the UK. There will be outbreaks of drizzle and patchy rain in western parts of Scotland, Wales and western England. Eastern parts should be drier with a few breaks in the cloud allowing for bright or sunny spells here. Rain edges slowly eastwards into southern and central England during the day, but tending to remaining drier in the east. More persistent showers gather across the far north of Northern Ireland, this reaching western Scotland in the later afternoon and becoming windy here too. Showers in western Ireland but brighter in central areas. A milder day with highs at 9 to 12C.

Wednesday Night
A breezy day in Scotland with showers and longer spells of rain, most of these in the west. For much of England and Wales as well as Ireland the night should be dry. There will be an odd shower on the hills of northwest England and Wales. Some clearer spells in more central and southern areas, especially later on. Lows near 2 to 5C.

Thursday
High pressure to the south of the country on Thursday with low pressure to the north. Fronts trailing through the northern half of the UK and Ireland bring plenty of cloud to much of Ireland, Scotland and northwest England. Outbreaks of drizzle and rain here, mostly on the hills and over western coasts and slopes. Drizzle may affect western coasts of Wales and southwest England too, but through central and southern areas it should be drier and brighter with even a few sunny spells. Highs at 9 to 12C.

Friday
A ridge of high pressure builds over the country on Friday. This is going to be bringing cloud and some drizzle in western areas of the country with plenty of murk and low cloud. Away from the western coasts and hills it is likely to become brighter with some sunny spells forming, the best of them in northeast England, the Midlands and southeast England. Western and southern Ireland seeing more persistent drizzle and rain. Mild or very mild for all with highs at 9 to 14C.
