Thursday
Cloud and periods of rain affecting northern England and Scotland this morning, patchy rain in northern and western Wales too. More eastern and southern areas are going to be drier and brighter with some sunny spells developing. The rain passes east and fades as it does so. The afternoon becomes brighter for most, still with a fair amount of cloud, but dry overall. A few showers in western Scotland, and the chance of some spots of rain in western Ireland. Highs at 15 to 24C with fresher air arriving from the west.


Thursday Night
Increasing amounts of cloud tonight bringing outbreaks of drizzle and rain over western coasts and hills. A few spots of rain further east and south, mostly over high ground through the early hours. Generally dry for many areas. Heavier bursts of showery rain in western Scotland later, but turning drier through Ireland. Lows near 9 to 14C.
 


Friday
Low pressure to the west of the UK and Ireland on Friday. This brings strong winds and periods of heavy rain through Ireland. For most of the east of Northern Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales there will be a fair amount of cloud. Spots of rain may affect western coasts and hills. Drier to the east and south with some sunny spells. Temperatures at 15 to 22C and feeling fresher for most.


Saturday
A front becomes slow moving as it edges east through the country on Saturday. This brings several hours of rain, most to northern England, the Midlands, Wales and western England in the morning before heading east into the afternoon. Brighter weather follows from the west with sunny spells and mostly dry weather. Winds easing with highs at 15 to 22C.
