Rain in west
Mild, sunnier east

Monday
Quite a windy day across northern and western parts of Britain with gusts to 55 mph in the north west of Scotland. Outbreaks of rain to affect Northern Ireland and north western parts of Scotland in the morning with the rest of the country fine and dry with sunny spells. That area of rain makes slow progress eastward in the afternoon affecting much of Scotland, Northern Ireland and western parts of Wales and England. It remains fine and sunny across central and eastern parts of England. Quite a mild day with maximums of 12 to 16 Celsius.

Monday Night
The winds will be moderating through the course of the evening and night. A disorganised area of light to moderate rain spreads in across all but East Anglia and the south east during the evening. Overnight most of the rain may be across East Anglia and the south east. Overall it remains rather cloudy across Britain with showers in the north west and some patchy drizzle across Wales and south west England. Expect minimum temperatures of 5 to 8 Celsius.

Tuesday
Expect a good deal of cloud across Britain today with the best of any sunshine across parts of northern Britain. Most places should be dry but there is a risk of scattered showers across western Scotland, Wales and central and southern parts of England as a weak cold front moves eastward. It appears chiefly dry into the evening and night. Another mild day with high temperatures of 10 to 16 Celsius.

Wednesday
A cooler day to come with brisk north west winds developing across Britain. While most places will be dry apart from a few showers on the coast of Northern Ireland and across the Western Isles, we expect a good deal of cloud around. Best of the sunshine may be found in the south in the morning. Much of the cloud tends to break up this evening with some late sunshine developing. Overnight it's dry and mostly clear which will lead to a colder night with a risk of frost and fog patches by morning. Look for high temperatures of 10 to 13 Celsius.
