UK Forecast - August 15, 2017
Rain north & west
Drier east & south

Wednesday
A sunny start to the day across much of central and eastern England as well as eastern Scotland. Ireland and the west of the UK will be cloudy with drizzly rain affecting much of Ireland, reaching western Scotland, west Wales and the far southwest of England after breakfast time. This rain and drizzle then spread into much of Scotland, west and south Wales, southwest England and northwest Scotland in the afternoon as Ireland turns drier from the west. Becoming breezier too. Most central, eastern and southern parts of England should be dry and bright with more sunny spells, these turning increasingly hazy. Highs at 16 to 23C.

Wednesday Night
Rain affecting much of Scotland, England and Wales overnight. This turns heavy at times with a risk of thunderstorms, especially in the south. Drier weather in western Scotland, much of Ireland and eventually western Wales and western England. Showers affecting western Ireland throughout the night. Lows at 9 to 14C.

Thursday
Low pressure to the northwest of Scotland on Thursday. A front still affecting East Anglia and southeast England at first bringing rain here. This clears but may be replaced by some thundery showers later in the day. For the rest of the UK and Ireland it will be a day of sunny spells and plenty of dry conditions, but also some showers. The showers mostly affecting western coasts and hills. These merge into longer spells of rain and a risk of thunderstorms in Ireland in the afternoon, arriving in western Scotland, NW England and perhaps the west of Wales in the evening. Increasingly breezy with tops of 24C in southeast England, 18C in northern Scotland.

Friday
Low pressure passes through Scotland on Friday. This brings some heavy rain into Scotland together with northern England at first. Gales here too. Heavy showers in Ireland and these affecting much of western and southern Scotland as well as northwest England as the rain clears. For much of the rest of England and Wales the day will be bright and breezy. There will be some showers, most of these in the south. A cool day at 12C in northern Scotland, but more widely 15 to 17C in western and northern areas, 22C in the brighter south and east.
