Dry weather continues under high pressure. A bright day for central and southern Britain, with plenty of sunshine. Cloudy skies across northern England may tend to break at times. Dull for Northern Ireland and much of Scotland, with patchy drizzle over the south-western Highlands. North-east Scotland will be brighter with some sun. Mostly light winds, but an easterly breeze affects the English Channel. Highs 5 to 8C.

Friday night
Staying dry into the evening and night. A light to moderate easterly breeze, strongest near coasts in the south-west. Variable amounts of cloud for the north and east of Britain will keep temperatures at 2 to 5C. However, many places in the south & west will see clear skies. Frost forming widely inland in the south, close to freezing for many, locally -3 or -4C in sheltered southern Britain. Shallow low level mist patches possible.

Saturday
A quiet and cool day across the country. Some sunshine toward the south & south-west, also Ireland, but a fair amount of cloud may persist across much of Britain. Murky and damp with some drizzle over hills in the north of England and southern Scotland. Light east to south-easterly winds. Chilly across central England & Wales, top temperatures 3 to 6C, mildest near coasts.
 

Sunday
A slack pressure regime influences the British Isles, promoting a slack south-easterly flow. Chilly with variable cloud and some sunshine - likely brightest in central England. Frosty in the morning where skies stayed clear overnight. Patchy rain or drizzle may affect the south-west. Little wind. Just 3 to 5C for most, up to 8C south-west.
