A tendency for the showers to ease for many through the afternoon, although staying heavy in western Scotland. Highs at 8 to 10C across much of Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland and northern England; 11 to 13C for the rest of England and Wales.

A front over western Ireland will be giving rain, and this rain spreads east during the afternoon to be over much of Scotland, northern England, Wales and southwest England by late afternoon and evening.
