High pressure is centred across eastern Europe, bringing fair weather to most of the continent, and generally warm conditions thanks to an extensive southerly flow. Some fog locally in the morning. Top temperatures 25 to 28C, locally 30C in Spain & Portugal, also south-west France. 23 to 26C for northern France, the Low Countries and Germany.
Thunderstorms affect the central Mediterranean, focused around Sicily. Scattered showers for Greece . Temperatures widely into the low 20s Celsius for eastern Europe. Nudging 20C in southern Sweden, and 15C for Finland. Windy for western Norway with rain encroaching in from the west.


Saturday
Little overall change across Europe, with high pressure staying to the east promoting a warm southerly flow. A long frontal system lies to the west, bringing heavy rain to south-west Norway. Brisk southerly winds for Scandinavia. Rain extends across Britain and clips north-western parts of France and Spain, turning wetter here later. Highs 31C southern Spain and Portugal. Generally dry conditions prevail across the continent. Temperatures widely into the mid-20s. A risk of thunderstorms again around Sicily, also Turkey.
