A cloudier day
Rain in Scotland

Tuesday
Rather a cloudy day to come across much of the country. There will be some drizzle and outbreaks of rain affecting Scotland, northern England and parts of Ireland. The most persistent rain in western Scotland where it could be heavy at times. Much of eastern and southern England is likely to be dry, and the east and south of Wales should be drier too. Some brightness developing here and there later in central and southern parts of England and Wales as well as southern Ireland. Highs at 12 to 15C.

Tuesday Night
Rain continues to affect western Scotland overnight and again this could be heavy at times. Eastern Scotland is likely to be drier although it will be remaining cloudy here. Elsewhere the night is likely to be dry with broken cloud, although it will always tend to be cloudier to the west. Lows at 6 to 11C.

Wednesday
A weak front passing south through Scotland on Wednesday brings cloud and some patchy rain. Following into central and northern Scotland will be brighter skies with a scattering of showers on coasts and hills, turning cooler too. The outbreaks of rain reach Northern Ireland in the afternoon. England and Wales will have broken cloud but also some reasonable spells of sunshine in central and southern areas once morning mist and fog patches have cleared. Highs at 11 to 15C.

Thursday
A ridge if high pressure builds through the UK and Ireland on Thursday. There is likely to be some mist and fog patches on Thursday morning, these perhaps dense in places. Cloud will be broken with some bright or even sunny spells here and there. A dry day for most but just the chance of an odd spot of drizzle on the hills. Highs at a cooler 9 to 14C.
