UK Forecast - January 16, 2021
Becoming milder
Heavy rain Tuesday

Sunday
A ridge of high pressure builds in across much of the UK and Ireland on Sunday, although low pressure close to Iceland will keep showers blowing in across northern and western Scotland as well as across Northern Ireland and northwest Ireland. Best of the sunny spells expected in the east. Highs at 5 to 9C.

Sunday Night
Overnight, it will be largely dry across England, Wales and Ireland but cloud and rain will continue to affect parts of Northern Ireland and southern parts of Scotland. Showers still pushing in across north and west Scotland. Lows generally between 1 to 4C but across central and northeast Scotland could fall as low as -3C.

Monday
Monday currently starts off cloudy across southern and southwest Scotland and Northern Ireland with patchy rain. Cloud increasing further south as Atlantic low pressure moves closer towards Britain. Through the day rain will spread across Ireland, Northern Ireland, Wales central and southwest England. Drier further east. Scotland will be brighter although showers will be rather widespread. Highs at 5 to 9C with the far southwest seeing max temps reaching 11C.

Tuesday
The Atlantic low tracks across Ireland and on over the UK on Tuesday. Cloud and rain will spread across much of the country as the associated fronts continue to pass through. Winds strengthening too. Rain could largely clear across much of central and southeastern England for a time before more rain pushes in later on in the day and overnight. Milder air for most is expected. Exception being to northern Scotland where it will stay largely dry and cool. Highs at 7 to 12C for Ireland, England and Wales but cooler further north with highs here at 2 to 5C.
