A brighter day overall on Thursday, although some morning fog patches in parts of southern Scotland and northern England. There could be some cloud and spots of rain in central and northern Scotland throughout the day. Further outbreaks of rain across western and southern Ireland as well as southwest Wales and southwest England. Sunny spells and mostly dry weather in other areas. One or two showers developing over central and northern England. Light winds and highs at 10 to 14C.

Thursday Night
Rain affecting the far south of England overnight. A further area of rain in northern Scotland. Elsewhere the weather is likely to be drier with some clearer skies. Cloud may bring patchy rain to parts of Wales. Lows at 3C in central Scotland, 9C in the cloudier parts of the north and south.
 

Friday
A wet morning on Friday in southern England as a front edges slowly northwards. Rain could be heavy. Across the rest of England and Wales it will be breezy. Outbreaks of rain spreading through East Anglia and central England as well as eastern Wales. Drier for northern England in the morning. Sunny and dry in Scotland and much of Ireland. This afternoon remains breezy with more rain in central and southern England and eastern Wales. Patchy rain in northeast England, drier in the northwest. Sunny and dry in Scotland and most of Ireland, although some showers in western Ireland. Highs at 12 to 15C.

Saturday
Low pressure is over the UK and Ireland on Saturday. This brings another unsettled day. Rain and rather windy for many. The rain is likely to be heavy in Scotland as well as through Wales and southwest England. This rain probably slips into eastern Ireland in the afternoon, whilst western Ireland stays dry and windy. Eastern parts of the UK becoming drier in the afternoon with a few bright or sunny spells developing. Highs at 10 to 12C in the wetter west, 14C as any brightness comes through in the east.
