UK Forecast - May 01, 2021
Broken cloud, dry
Gales & rain Monday

Sunday
Fair for most of the British Isles to start Sunday. There will be god spells of sunshine, especially in England, Wales and southern Ireland. More cloud in Scotland and Northern Ireland, a few showers in the northwest. Generally more cloud this afternoon, although still with sunny spells in England and Wales, the best of it to the south. Always more cloud in northern England, Scotland and Ireland, again with a scattering of showers. Light winds for all. Highs at 9C in northern Scotland, 14C in southern and eastern England.

Sunday Night
Any showers fading this evening and then becoming mostly dry through the night. Clearer skies developing, although a cover of high cloud extending from the west, sufficient to prevent all but the sheltered areas of northern and eastern England and Scotland seeing a ground frost. By morning stronger winds and rain will have arrived in Ireland, severe gales in the west of Ireland. Lows at 2C to 6C.

Monday
A deep area of low pressure will be passing steadily eastwards through Ireland on Monday. This brings wind and rain, gales in the west in the morning, moving through other areas in the afternoon. The rain may be heavy at times with a risk of hales and thunder later, most of it in the west. Gales could become severe, especially in the west and south. The best of the weather is likely in northwest Scotland, and then through the evening in Ireland as the winds ease. Highs at 12C in southeast England, widely 8 to 11C.

Tuesday
Low pressure will be in the North Sea on Tuesday, a strong and showers northwesterly flow affecting the whole of the UK and Ireland. There will be heavy showers and longer spells of rain, most of them in areas facing the north and west. Sleet and snow affecting high ground of the far north of England and southern Scotland. Southern areas of England are likely to be drier and brighter with more scattered showers. Highs at just 4C in some parts of southern Scotland and northern England, 12C in the drier, sunnier parts of southern England.
