Mixed conditions
Chilly

Tuesday
Pressure remains high over most of the UK and Ireland on Tuesday. Morning mist and fog patches clear to leave broken cloud and sunny spells once again. Fronts may bring rain to the north and west of Scotland as well as increasing cloud across the rest of Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland. Breezy here too. Best of the sunshine to the south and east. Highs at 9 to 13C for most, 14 or 15C to the southeast.

Tuesday Night
Outbreaks of rain continue to affect northern and western parts of Scotland through the night, moving into the far west of Ireland too. Cloudier skies for the northwestern half of the British Isles, clearer skies to the south and east. Overnight lows at 4 to 10C for most, cooler in more rural areas.

Wednesday
High pressure to the south brings dry weather for much of England and Wales but also some mist and fog patches which could be slow to clear in the morning. Fronts in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland give cloudy conditions with outbreaks of rain, these heaviest in western Scotland. A trough may develop over southeastern England bringing outbreaks of rain to eastern and southern parts of the country. Highs at 10 to 13C for many, 14C for parts of southern England.

Thursday
Thursday looks to see outbreaks of rain continuing for northwestern parts of the UK and Ireland as low pressure remains to the northwest. Showers affecting western parts of England and Wales. Drier to the east and south but with some cloud around. Isolated showers may develop later. Best of the sunshine over central areas. Highs at 9 to 15C for most.
