Chilly, mostly dry
Winds ease later

Tuesday
A windy and cold start to Tuesday. There will be broken cloud and a few showers over England and Wales. These will be fading during the morning and into the afternoon with the winds easing too. Some good spells of sunshine. Drier in Scotland and Ireland, a few showers in northeast Scotland although these only light. This afternoon should be dry for these areas, again with sunny spells. Highs at 7 to 9C.


Tuesday Night
A quiet night as high pressure builds across the country. Winds will be falling light with skies being mostly clear. Thicker cloud could affect western Scotland and perhaps the far west of Ireland. A frost is likely under the clearer skies, lows near -1 to 2C overall.
 


Wednesday
High pressure centred over the UK and Ireland on Wednesday. There may be some fog patches in rural areas at first in England, Wales and southern Ireland, but these clear quickly. The day should be dry and cool but with good spells of sunshine. More cloud in the north of Scotland, some drizzle affecting northwestern coasts. Further cloud in western Ireland too. Highs at a chilly 6 to 8C.


Thursday
High pressure remains over the UK and Ireland. There will be an early frost as well as a few mist and fog patches. Dry during the day with broken cloud and some spells of sunshine. The best sunshine in eastern Scotland. Increased breezes in western Ireland and the west of Scotland. Highs at 6 to 8C.
