Thursday
A mild day to come over most of the UK and Ireland, warm in the south and east in any sunshine. Plenty of cloud in northern and western areas with low cloud and drizzle affecting coasts and hills. More persistent rain in northwest Scotland slipping into Northern Ireland. Increasingly damp for northwest England and western Wales. Staying dry in the east and south of England where there may be some bright or sunny spells developing in the far south. Highs at a warm 21C in southeast England, a colder 10C in northwest Scotland.

Thursday Night
Cloud through Ireland, northern England and Wales overnight, this producing some outbreaks of rain, mainly in northern England and eastern Scotland. Much cooler under clearer skies in Scotland, a scattering of showers affecting the northwest. Dry with variable cloud for southern and eastern England and Wales. Lows near 1C in central Scotland, 12C in southern England.
 

Friday
A front extends from northern England, through eastern Ireland and into Wales on Friday. This produces cloud and some drizzly outbreaks of rain. Drier, but still with plenty of cloud in central and southern England perhaps with some sunny spells in the southeast. Drizzle and patchy rain slipping into the Midlands, central and southern Wales in the afternoon. Much cooler in Northern Ireland and Scotland where skies will be brighter. A few showers in northern and western Scotland and western Ireland. Tops at 23C in southeast England, 8C in northwest Scotland but 10 to 15C for most.

Saturday
A ridge of high pressure builds to the west and north on Saturday. This brings much colder weather but with lots of sunshine after a morning frost. Most parts of Scotland and Ireland should be dry, just a low chance of an isolated showers over the Scottish hills. Cloudier skies in England and Wales as a front brings a cold day with rain through the Midlands, Wales and southwest England. The rain reaching the southeast in the late afternoon. Colder for all at 8C in northern Scotland, 14C in southeast England and 10 to 12C for most.
