UK Forecast - May 04, 2017
Cloudy south, sunny north
Warm in the west

Friday
A cloudy and breezy day to come in southern England today with a few spots of rain in the far southeast. Elsewhere it should be dry, with the cloud edging slowly northwards into southern Ireland, Wales and the Midlands through the afternoon. Further north it is going to be far brighter with plenty of sunshine. Eastern coasts of Scotland may be troubled by low cloud for a time in the morning, but this breaking quickly. Feeling warm too in northern areas with highs at 19C in western Wales and Scotland, nearer 12 to 14C in the cloudier south.

Friday Night
Overnight cloud continues to edge north through England, Wales and Ireland. It is going to be windy through these areas too. Rain arrives in the far south of Ireland and southwest England, this becoming more persistent here towards the morning. Drier conditions further north with clear skies in Scotland and parts of Northern Ireland. Lows at 5 to 9C.

Saturday
High pressure to the north on Saturday with low pressure to the south. A front in southern Ireland and southern England brings cloud and outbreaks of rain here, most affecting southwestern England. This rain should fade into the afternoon. For the rest of England, Wales and Scotland it should be a dry day. There will be a fair amount of cloud for most, but some bright spells too. The best of these in more western areas of Scotland and northwest England. Highs could reach 20C in western Scotland, nearer 13 to 16C elsewhere.

Sunday
High pressure remains north of the UK on Sunday with a ridge extending southwards. This brings another dry day for most northern areas with some good spells of sunshine. Always a tendency for more cloud to affect eastern coasts. Broken cloud in more southern and western areas giving some bright or sunny spells, but the risk of an odd shower here in the afternoon. Highs near 11C in any cloud over eastern coasts, but 17C in the sunshine in the west.
