Easter Sunday
A fair day for many parts of central and southern England and Wales on Easter Sunday though cloud will tend to increase after morning sunshine. A band of cloud and rain will pass south through Scotland, falling as sleet and snow particularly over the higher ground but reaching some lower levels too. Patchy rain reaches as far south as northern Ireland and the north of England by the evening. Behind this wintry showers follow and it will be increasingly breezy too, especially in the north. Highs at 6 or 7C in northern Scotland, 16C in southern England.

Sunday Night
Overnight a cold front pushes south clearing southern parts of the British Isles early on Monday morning. Behind this a strong northerly flow spreads across the country bringing wintry showers and strong winds to northern, northwestern and eastern coasts in particular. Some heavier snow over the Scottish mountains. A cold night with lows ranging from -4C in Scotland to 4C in the south of England and Ireland. Colder in more rural parts of the north.

Easter Monday
A much colder day for all on Monday with a sharp early frost and patches of ice expected across Scotland and into northern England. Through the day expect sunny spells and showers, these will be wintry in nature for many, particularly in the north. The showers will be most frequent across northern, northwestern and eastern coasts and hills. Breezy too with coastal gales. Staying cloudier to the southwest where highs will reach 7C. Temperatures more widely ranging from 4 to 6C, though parts of Scotland could see the mercury struggle to hit 2C.

Tuesday

These heaviest and most persistent across northern and central Scotland as well as over the hills. Highs around 2C in the north rising to 7C in the south.
