A cold day ahead with low pressure bringing outbreaks of showery rain across central and eastern Scotland as well as East Anglia and the far southeast. Some outbreaks of showery rain could affect Wales and southwest England too. Drier elsewhere with more broken cloud and a few sunny spells. Best of the sunshine in Ireland and the west of Scotland were a fresh north to northeast wind will persist. This afternoon brings rain inro central and eastern Scotland as well as much of the north of England with more rain in East Anglia and the ar southeast. few showers persist in southwest England. Drier in central England and Ireland with some spells of sunshine. The winds increasing in northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Highs at 10 to 12C.

Tuesday Night
Breezy overnight with a chilly northeast wind affecting all areas. Outbreaks of showery rain and more cloud in northeast England and eastern Scotland. Some spots of rain in eastern Ireland too. Spots of rain again in East Anglia and te southeast. Drier in more central and western areas of England and Wales. Clearer skies in central and western Scotland as well as the rest of Ireland. Lows at 2C in western Scotland, 5 to 8C for most.

Wednesday
The northeast flow remains on Wednesday, although the day is likely to be a little less cool. There will be sunshine and dry conditions in western Scotland, western England and the west of Wales. A few showers developing in central parts of Ireland, most of these light. Cloud and some showery spots of rain blowing into eastern areas of England and into the eastern Midlands too. Tending to be bright with sunny spells in much of the Midlands, southwest England and northwest England as well as Wales. Tops at 11 to 15C.

Thursday
High pressure to the north of Scotland on Thursday with an east to northeast flow across the UK and Ireland. There will be broken cloud and a risk of some spots of rain, mostly in central and eastern areas. Tending to be brighter in western England and Wales as well as western Scotland. Eastern Ireland will be bright with some sunny spells, but increasing cloud and rain as well as stronger winds in western Ireland. Temperaures at 8 to 12C for most, 14C in western Ireland.
