Sunday
Winds veer easterly into Sunday as low pressure develops to the southeast and high pressure pushes across northern Scotland. This brings wintry showers to eastern areas of the British Isles. These may merge at times to give longer spells of rain or sleet. Some showers push further inland to give snow showers over higher ground in the north of England and south of Scotland. Becoming breezy over southern areas too. Staying drier over northern and western areas with the best of the sun for Ireland, Northern Ireland and northern Scotland. Highs at 1 to 5C for most, 6 or 7C again possible for coastal areas.


Sunday night
Wintry showers continue to affect northern parts of England and southern parts of Scotland overnight while eastern coastal regions of Ireland also see the development of some showers. A weak front brings mostly light, patchy rain into far southern coastal areas of England too. A breezy night for southern and eastern areas with the clearest skies over northwestern and western areas. Overnight lows fall to -2 to 1C for most, staying milder over eastern coastal regions at 3 to 5C here.


Monday
High pressure to the north of the UK and low pressure to the south on Monday maintains a northeast to easterly flow. A low pressure system may bring an area of patchy rain and sleet into far southeastern parts of England accompanied by brisk winds. Staying largely dry, fine and cold for most with the best of the sun to the northwest and west. Wintry showers continue to blow into eastern coastal areas. These may push further inland to the north at times. High temperatures of 1 to 5C for many, 6C for coastal areas.


Tuesday
Low pressure to the south and high pressure to the north keeps a cold easterly flow over the UK and Ireland. Patchy rain, sleet and snow are expected over parts of England and Wales, but particularly eastern areas, while the north and west stays mainly dry. Some wintry showers will affect eastern Scotland too at times. Mist and fog will be a risk over northwestern areas. High temperatures of just 0 to 5C.
