A frosty start for the north and west again on Sunday, but sunny skies here along with some coastal wintry showers, these becoming more widespread through the day. Cloudier skies across the southeast to start though sunnier spells should develop here later. Meanwhile, a front arrives from the Atlantic gradually thickening the cloud cover across northwest Scotland, Northern Ireland and much of Ireland with rain arriving by early evening. Another cold day. Daytime highs at 3 to 7C.

Sunday Night
Cloud and rain will push across the far southwest of Scotland, Northern Ireland and much of Ireland initially then spread into Wales and northwest Englandtowards dawn. Elsewhere, largely clear skies, dry conditions with a hard frost forming. Overnight lows where there are clear skies will be widely sub-zero at -4 to -1C but under those cloudy skies should be around or above zero.

Monday
A hard frost for many to start the day once again, although not everywhere; cloudier skies with rain will continue to affect Northern Ireland, much of Ireland, southwest Scotland, northern and central parts of England as well as parts of Wales. Sunny spells elsewhere with largely dry conditions but one or two showers will develop in places, likely wintry. A chilly day. Highs at 6 to 10C.

Tuesday
With high pressure to the south of the country on Tuesday, expect a largely dry morning with sunny spells across England and Wales although there is the chance for some showers developing as clouds also develop during the afternoon. Meanwhile, a front will push into Northern Ireland and affect northern parts of Ireland as well as western areas of Scotland into northern England bringing cloudier skies here and some patchy rain for a time. Looking brighter but with some showers during the afternoon. Highs at 7 to 12C.
