Cooler through the weekend
Outbreaks of showery rain

Saturday
A weak cold front is expected to be across central and southern parts of England on Saturday. High pressure remains to the west of Ireland with low pressure to the east of England. A cool northwest to northerly flow affects all parts of the country. Cloudy over southern areas close to the front, with a few spots of rain here and there, but this fades quickly. Brighter to the north of the front with some sunshine, although showers affect northern Scotland and the high ground of northern England. Cooler for all. Highs at 22 to 23C in southern parts of England, but more widely 16 to 21C, just 11 to 12C in northern Scotland.


Saturday Night
Outbreaks of showery rain continuing over the far north of Scotland overnight from Saturday night into Sunday while showers could develop over southern parts of Ireland and the southwest of the UK. Elsewhere it should stay dry though there will be some cloud around for England and Wales. Clearer skies to the northwest where it will feel chilly with overnight lows dropping to 5 to 8C, colder in rural areas. Under cloudier skies to the south and east, lows staying around 11 to 13C .


Sunday
A ridge of high pressure builds across the British Isles through Sunday. A more northwest to northerly flow brings a risk of rain in northern Scotland and of light, scattered showers for eastern parts of Scotland and England throughout the day. Elsewhere a weak trough continues to bring outbreaks of rain to southwestern parts of the UK and Ireland. Fair for most other areas with broken cloud and sunny spells. Highs widely at 16 to 19C. Just 12 or 13C in northern Scotland however while southern parts of England could see 20 or 21C.


Monday
A weak ridge of high pressure holds on over the eastern half of the UK on Monday. This brings a mostly dry day though cloud will build from the west as an area of low pressure approaches from the Atlantic. An overcast day in Ireland and the west of the UK with outbreaks of showery rain through the evening. Dry and bright for the eastern UK though cloud will build from the west. Some showers may develop over southern England through the afternoon. Highs at 21 or 22C in southern England, 15C in northern Scotland, more widely 17 to 20C.
