Monday
An area of low pressure is northeast of Scotland on Monday. It should be a brighter day but remaining windy with gales in the north and west. Heavy and frequent showers across northern and western Scotland, northwest England and much of western Ireland, these falling as snow over the hills. Generally drier across more southern and eastern areas. Feeling cold everywhere in the wind. Highs at 5 to 11C.


Monday Night
Strong westerly winds continue through the night bringing showers to western coasts and hills. A more prolonged spell of snow is expected over the western Highlands of Scotland. Staying mostly dry to the east and south which is where the best of any clearer skies will be. Overnight lows at 0 to 4C, cooler in more rural areas leading to some frost and ice patches.
 


Tuesday
Staying cool for all on Tuesday and feeling especially chilly in the brisk westerly wind. Further showers over western hills and coasts, these falling as sleet and snow to the north. Some showers will spread inland over Wales and England. Staying dry and sunny for northeastern areas. High temperatures at 4 to 9C.
 


Wednesday
A ridge of high pressure builds over the UK on Wednesday. The day starts dry with some good spells of sunshine here and perhaps a touch of frost. Cloud builds over Ireland and rain spreads from the west later reaching western parts of the UK through the afternoon. Staying drier to the far south. Highs at 4 to 9C.
