A bright start to Thursday morning with well broken cloud and some good spells of sunshine. Feeling cooler for all. The best of the sunshine in the east. There will be more clouds affecting western areas with that climbs thickening through this afternoon and some drizzly outbreaks of rain affecting western Wales, Southwest England and southern Ireland. More persistent rain may affect Western Ireland later in the afternoon, with the winds reaching gale force here. Highs at 9 to 13C.

Thursday night
A dry start to the night across many parts of England and eastern Wales. Some drizzle along southern coast of England. An area of rain, some of it heavy will affect western Scotland, western Wales and east of Ireland before midnight, this area of rain then spreading eastwards through England, Wales and eastern Scotland during the early hours. Winds will be increasing, touching gale force in the west. Drier weather follows to the west. Lows at 3 to 5C in central Ireland, 6 to 8C elsewhere.

Friday
Morning rain in East Anglia and Southeast England as a cold front clears. It should then be brighter across match of central and eastern England and Wales, as well as the east of Scotland. Showers will be affecting western coast and hills with a general increase in cloud during the afternoon bringing some drizzle to western and south-western coast. Western Scotland also sees further periods of rain and stronger wins with some showers in western Ireland. Eastern Ireland should be drier and brighter overall. Highs at 9C in northern Scotland, 13C in southeast England.

Saturday
Cloud and outbreaks of rain through Saturday over most of England and Wales as well as Ireland. Western Scotland is going to be cloudy with rain and drizzle, this affecting western Wales and western coasts and hills of England too. Drier in northeast England, damper later. Mild in the south and west, cooler north and east. Highs at 11 to 15C.
