UK Forecast - April 17, 2017
Dry but cool
Frost overnight

Tuesday
High pressure across the country brings a dry and sunny day to most places. Fair-weather cloud will tend to fill in through the day. Chance of a brief shower around south-eastern coasts, possible soft hail. A weak front in the far north-west brings thicker cloud and a little rain to western Scotland. Light winds for many, but a cold north-easterly breeze affects the south. Highs just 8 to 13C, warmest in south-west.

Tuesday night
Clear skies and light winds for much of England & Wales means a widespread frost will return. Temperatures dipping close to zero even in towns, whilst rural central areas may fall below -3C. A weak warm front across northern Britain brings greater amounts of cloud to Scotland & Northern Ireland, probably preventing a frost here, nearer 3 to 5C. A little drizzly rain may affect western coasts and hills.

Wednesday
High pressure extends broadly across southern Britain, bringing fair weather to most places. Plenty of sunshine, although cloud tending to fill in through the day. Weak fronts toward the north-west produce thicker cloud, and perhaps a little rain or drizzle for western Scotland & Northern Ireland, plus a south-westerly breeze. Little wind for England & Wales. Temperatures reaching 10 to 14C, warmest in the south-west, and also eastern Scotland.

Thursday
High pressure becomes centred toward the south-west. Weak fronts bring a lot of cloud to the north & west, perhaps patches of drizzle on western coasts and hills, but most places will stay dry. Best chance for sunshine near the south coast and to the lee of high ground in the east. Westerly winds fairly light. Highs 12 to 16C, warmest east.
