Thursday
A very cold and windy day ahead across the UK and Ireland. Gales affecting Ireland and the farv west of Scotland. Bit sof rai affecting western ireland too but drier elsewhere. Cloud tending to break over England and Wales where it will be mostly dry, but after a morning frost temperatures will struggle to rise much and the wind will have a particularly biting edge. Highs at 7C in western Ireland and western Scotland, 2 to 5C elsewhere but feeling colder in the wind.


Thursday Night
Clearer skies in the east overnight allowing temperatures to fall sharply. There will be a frost here with lows of -1 or -2C as the breeze eases. Further west it is likely to be windy but mostly dry with broken cloud. Thicker cloud in Ireland with some outbreaks of rain here. The far southwest of England may become damp and breezy later too. Lows at 3 to 6C.
 


Friday
Low pressure to the west of Scotland on Friday. This pushes fronts eastwards bringing cloud and outbreaks of rain across Ireland and the west of the UK. More eastern areas tending to be starting the day drier with a few brighter spells. However, cloud is going to be increasing here. Thicker cloud blows in from the south bringing outbreaks of rain with it over much of England, although stays drier in northern and eastern Scotland. Tops at 6 to 8C.


Saturday
Low pressure remains close to western Scotland on Saturday. Further cloud and outbreaks of rain edging eastwards during the day. Most of the rain affecting western parts of Wales and southwest England as well as Ireland. Drier in much of Scotland although some cloud and rain in the far east of Scotland. Highs at 5 to 8C.
