Another very warm day to come across much of the UK and Ireland, with the heat focused in the south. Rather cloudy across many areas with outbreaks of rain and drizzle affecting southern England, southern Wales and southern Ireland. These may turn thundery as the day progresses. Lower cloud with mist and fog affecting eastern coast of England and eastern Scotland. Drier elsewhere with the best of any sunshine in western Scotland, Northwest England and Northern Ireland. Highs at a humid 29C in southern England, 25C in western Scotland and western Ireland but just 17C on the cloudier and mistier eastern coasts of England and Scotland.

Staying humid and cloudy across much of Ireland, Wales and England overnight. There could be some drizzle affecting southern south-western parts of England as well as southern Wales with more persistent rain in southern Ireland. Low cloud, mist and drizzle affecting eastern coast of England and eastern Scotland. Dry elsewhere with broken cloud. Lowest temperatures between 11 and 18°C

Saturday
Higher pressure remains close to Scotland on Saturday. A very warm day again with good spells of sunshine. Cloud does increase in the afternoon and there is a risk of some isolated thundery showers forming over central and eastern parts of England later. Dry in most of Ireland and Scotland as well as the west of England and much of Wales. Breezier in England later. Highs at 35C in southeast England, 19C in northwest Scotland, widely 23 to 29C, cooler on eastern coasts.

Sunday
Periods of thundery rain affecting much of England and Wales on Sunday, as well as the far south of Ireland. It stays very warm and humid across southern areas as well. Scotland and Northern Ireland will see drier weather and some good spells of sunshine, although eastern coast of Scotland on the far north east of England will again be troubled by lower cloud and some mist. Highs at 28C in southern England, 22C in western Scotland, but 17C on the mistier east coast.
