Tuesday
Tuesday sees the continuation of showers over northern and western parts of the UK while much of central and eastern England, Ireland and Northern Ireland start the day dry with some spells of sunshine. Through the afternoon these showers are more likely to become heavy and thundery over northern Wales, northwest England and across southern Scotland, and these spread to central southern England through the late afternoon and evening. Hot still in the south and southeast with highs at 35C. Cooler to the north at just 19 or 20C.

Tuesday Night
Showers continue across central and western England, Wales as well as across much of Scotland through the night. Staying mostly dry elsewhere with clear spells across southern England and over Ireland and Northern Ireland. Overnight lows still very muggy and warm in the south and southeast at 20C. Cooler further west and north you go with lows at 12C across western Ireland and 14C in Scotland.

Wednesday
A rather wet start across much of Scotland, with heavy showery rain affecting the north and northeast, before clearing from the west through the day with sunny spells developing behind. Elsewhere, many places starting dry although with showers, some potentially heavy and thundery, across northwest England and down eastern English coasts, particularly the southeast corner. Further thunderstorms develop later over England and Wales, these locally bringing very heavy rain. Highs at 18C in northern Scotland, 34C in southern England.

Thursday
Thursday looks to be unsettled across England and Wales with showers about, many will be heavy and some thundery. Ireland and Northern Ireland will start off dry with sunny spells but cloud will soon thicken as showers or longer spells of rain move in through the afternoon, likely to be heavy across parts of Ireland. Scotland should stay mainly dry but rather cloudy. The far north and Northen Isles will see the best of the sunshine. There will be a brisk northeasterly wind along the coasts. Highs at 18 to 25C.
