Wednesday
A frosty start over much of the country. Cloud is increasing from the south-west bringing drizzle and outbreaks of rain through this morning. Sunshine to the north and east. Cloud and rain then spreading through much of the rest of Ireland, Wales and England into the afternoon with rain becoming heavier here in the evening. Drier in the far north of England and Scotland, although broken cloud here. A cold day in wetter areas of England at 5C, turning milder in the southwest at 10C and nearer 6C in northern Scotland.


Wednesday Night
Low pressure crossing England and Wales tonight bringing cloudy, rather misty and damp weather. Outbreaks of rain, mainly in the east. Turning breezy in central and eastern areas too. Drier in much of Scotland, just a few showers over western coasts. Ireland should be mostly dry too. Lows at -4C in central Scotland, 4 to 6C in southern England.
 


Thursday
An area of low pressure clears eastern coasts on Thursday. This brings cloud and showery periods if rain in central and eastern areas although these tending to fade in the afternoon. Becoming brighter to the west, although a few showers here. Scattered showers too in Ireland and western Scotland. Highs at 5 to 8C.
 


Friday
Lower pressure remains close to the UK and Ireland on Friday. Broken cloud and a few showers, most affecting western coasts and hills, fewer in the east. Some sunny spells in many areas as well. Temperatures at 6 to 8C.
