Thursday
High pressure is to the south of the country on Thursday. There will be broken cloud and some bright or sunny spells across much of England, Wales and Ireland, misty in places too, but it should be dry, although expect low cloud and some drizzle over western coasts of Wales and England. A cold front moves into northern Scotland bringing rain here, some of it heavy with the winds increasing too. This rain slips south into central Scotland in the afternoon, reaching Northern Ireland later. Turning colder yet brighter in northern Scotland. Highs at 9C in Shetland and northern Scotland, 18C in any sunshine in southeast England.

Thursday Night
A band of rain moves south into northern England initially then on into central and some southern areas of England and Wales. Behind the rain and further north as well as across Northern Ireland expect clear spells, one or two scattered showers, but also much chillier air. Lows at around 0 to 4C across Scotland and northern England, milder though elsewhere.
 

Friday
Pressure stays high over the UK and Ireland on Friday. A weakened cold front becomes very slow moving over the far south of England bringing cloud and some outbreaks of light rain here. Turning brighter behind the front through the rest of England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. Some good spells of sunshine, but feeling cooler for all. A few early mist and fog patches in more sheltered areas, but these clearing quickly. Highs at 9 to 14C for most, 17C in the far southwest of England and southwest Ireland.

Saturday
Pressure is high again on Saturday centred to the south of the country. There is likely to be lots of cloud around with some drizzle over western and southern coasts and hills. Misty here too. Eastern areas could see one or two brighter spells coming through. Highs at 12 to 16C, mildest in the west.
