Thursday night
Heavy rain affects central and southern Scotland plus northern England into the night. Rain also moves across eastern England, clearing into the North Sea. Pulses of rain continue to affect Wales and the southwest, plus some showers for Ireland. Central and southern England drier with some cloud breaks. Breezy, particularly around coasts, southeasterly winds in the north and east, southwesterlies toward the south, risk of gales for Cornish coasts. Fairly mild at 10 to 15C.

Friday
An unsettled pattern with low pressure in charge. Areas of heavy rain rotate northwards into Scotland, risk of some prolonged heavy rain in east and central Scotland. Clusters of thundery downpours across England and Wales, developing increasingly through the morning and middle of the day, tracking eastwards. Breezy in the south, lighter winds toward the north. Feeling fairly warm in any sunny spells, but cool in constant rain. Maximum values 17 to 22C.

Saturday
Low pressure centred across northern Britain brings an unsettled day to most areas. Widespread bursts of rain and thunderstorms. These will be slow-moving across Scotland where winds are light, but will tend to drift from west to east across England, Wales and Ireland on a fresher breeze. Strongest winds toward the south coast. Eastern England will see a largely dry morning before showers build up. Fairly cool, temperatures 16 to 21C, warmest toward the southeast.
