Tuesday
A dry start to the day for many areas with some cloud floating around, but some sunny spells too. More persistent rain reaching northern Scotland through the morning and into this afternoon. Showers forming in much of central, southern and eastern England. An area of cloud and showers crossing southwest England and southern Wales into the late morning and afternoon. The showers becoming heavy and thundery this afternoon. More scattered showers in Ireland with sunny spells. Tending to be drier in western areas of England and Scotland as well as Ireland. Highs at 17C in any sunshine in eastern England, 12C in western areas.

Tuesday Night
Further showers in northern and eastern Scotland tonight. A further area of showers crossing southern England too. Drier elsewhere with clearer skies. Lows at 4 to 7C. Winds should be light throughout the night.

 
 
 

Wednesday
A weak ridge of high pressure builds on Wednesday. Early in the morning a trough may pass eas through the far south of England bringing some showery rain. The morning should be bright and mostly dry, although a scattering of showers are likely to be developing in central and eastern areas, whilst being drier in the west. A few heavier showers in southern Scotland and northeast England. Drier in the west with the best sunshine here, whilst scattered showers continue in Ireland. Temperatures at 10C in northern Scotland, 17C in southern England.

Thursday
A deep area of low pressure west of Ireland on Thursday. This is going to be pushing fronts eastwards bringing rain, some of it heavy, into the west of the UK and Ireland in the morning. eastern areas should start drier, but rain will be reaching here through the day. Winds will be increasing with gales becoming widespread in the west, some of them severe. Rain in many southern areas of England is likely to be lighter as brighter weather arrives from the west with heavy showers in Wales and southwest England. Highs at 11C in northern Scotland, 14C in western parts of England and Wales, 19C in the east.
