Cloudier for more northern and western areas, although mostly dry. A few sunny spells will be breaking through this afternoon in Scotland, northern England, west Wales and southern Ireland. Brighter for central and southern England where it will be dry. Highs at 5 or 6C in the south, 10C in northwest Scotland.

Tuesday Night
A frost forming in central nd southern England and Wales tonight. Some fog patches reforming for southern and southeastern England. Patchy rain and drizzle in northwest England and north Wales with a band of more persistent rain reaching western Scotland. Cloudy but dry in eastern Scotland. Light winds in the south but a fresh westerly breeze in northern Scotland. Lows near -2C in the south, 8C northern Scotland.

Wednesday
A weak front passing south through the British Isles on Wednesday. Patchy rain in northern England and southern Scotland at first, as well as through central Ireland. Dry in the rest of England and Wales, some morning fog for the southeast and cloud increasing for all. Turning brighter in Scotland as the front clears south. Sunny spells here, although some showers over the north and west, these wintry on hills. Windy in northern Scotland, light winds elsewhere. Highs at 6 to 8C.

Thursday
High pressure west of Ireland on Thursday. A north to northeast flow for much of eastern Scotland, England and Wales. Sunny spells and a fair day for many, although a few showers drifting onto eastern coasts. Little changes in the afternoon with some showers in the east, but dry for most and sunny intervals. Feeling chilly in the wind. Highs at 5 to 7C.
