Sunday
With a fresh westerly wind in the north and west expect showers through the morning across the northern half of the country. There will be plenty of cloud about but with some sunny spells. Further south it will start off mostly dry with sunshine. Showers, however, will become more widespread through the day with southeastern regions of England seeing the risk of showers too. Showers could become heavy across parts of eastern Scotland in the afternoon. Skies clouding over in the far southwest of England later on in advance of some rain moving in. Highs 17 to 23C.

Sunday night
Overnight, some patchy mostly light rain could affect the southwest of England for a time. Elsewhere, showers should die out and become largely dry across central and eastern areas of the UK and Ireland but continue to push in across western parts. There will be patchy cloud with clear spells for many. Westerly winds easing off although still fresh across the far north of Scotland. Lows 9 to 13C, locally lower over the mountains.

Monday
To start the new week it will be another day of sunny spells and showers, however, with high pressure trying to build in from the south expect maybe only isolated showers across southern areas of Britain and largely dry conditions. Showers becoming widespread across Scotland and Northern Ireland. Cloud thickening across western Ireland later on in advance of rain pushing in through the evening. Highs 16 to 22C.

Tuesday
Starting dry in eastern and southern regions, before rain moves in from the west affecting northern and central parts of the UK and Ireland through the day. Rain looks to fall heavy with persistent spells across northwest England and southwest Scotland. The south and southeast of England could stay largely dry if not dry altogether and the Northern Isles will see just light rain and drizzle. Brisk southwesterly winds. Highs 17 to 22C.
