Monday
An area of low pressure moves over Scotland on Monday. Cloudier skies and outbreaks of rain are expected across northern areas at first, locally heavy, before spreading further south and east across Scotland where the rain becomes lighter and patchier. Patchy rain affecting parts of Northern Ireland and northwest Ireland as well as into northern England later. Dry elsewhere with broken cloud and bright spells, the best of the sunshine in the far south. Some frosty patches possible further south to start. Highs between 10 and 14C generally but reaching the high teens across parts of Ireland.

Monday Night
Overnight, cloudy skies and patchy rain, mostly light, will continue across Scotland and parts of northern England while and sinking south into Wales and central parts of England as well as down coastal areas of Ireland. Remaining dry with clear skies across the far south of Wales, England and much of inland Ireland. Overnight lows will generally remain above zero at between 2 to 5C, although some southern locations could see minimums touch zero where clear skies remain.

Tuesday
Lower pressure drifts south on Tuesday bringing largely cloudier skies and patchy outbreaks of rain across the UK and Ireland. Conditions should improve across Scotland and western areas of Ireland through the day. Where it is dry there will be broken cloud and some bright spells, the best of these in the far southeast of England and later in the day to the north and far west. Highs at 14 or 15C in southern England, generally between 9 and 13C elsewhere.

Wednesday
A chillier north-easterly flow is forecast for Wednesday and expect a frosty start for parts of Scotland. Showers will push in onto eastern areas mainly but are expected to push further west, these turning wintry over the higher ground across Scotland and the Pennines. The southwest of England is currently forecast to see thicker cloud and outbreaks of rain for much of the day. It will also be breezy here. A cool day with highs at just 7 to 12C.
