Patchy rain moves south
Brighter, cooler north

Wednesday
A chilly and frosty morning for parts of central and southern England. A few fog patches here, these soon clearing and leaving some sunny spells. A weak front passing south bringing some patchy rai over northern England and southern Scotland as well as parts of Ireland. Brighter in Scotland, a few showers around coasts and s the winds pick up here. This afternoon brings cloud and some patchy rain in Wales, central and southern England. Brighter with sunny spells for northern England, Scotland and Ireland, although some showers north and west. Highs at 6C in Scotland, 9C in southwest England.


Wednesday Night
A chilly night as skies become clearer. Dry overall but a few wintry showers over northern hills. Dry for other areas. The breeze tending to keep temperatures from falling too low, minimums near -1 to 2C.

 
 
 


Thursday
A ridge of high pressure extends through the British Isles on Thursday with high pressure centred west of Ireland. A cold, northerly airflow affects all areas bringing a bright day for many. The best sunshine in western parts. In the east some cloud will be drifting in off the North SEa at times bringing scattered showers here. Feeling especially chilly in the strong winds through East Anglia and the southeast. Highs at 5 to 7C.


Friday
Breezy for northern Scotland on Friday, some rain in the far northwest towards evening. Most areas of the rest of the British Isles should be dry. Always tending to be cloudier to the north a dn west, a few spots of rain over western coasts and hills. The best of any sunshine across southeastern England and East Anglia as well as eastern parts of Ireland. One or two showery spots of rain in northern England later. Highs at 7C in southeast England, 5C in the Midlands, 9C in western Scotland.
