Wednesday A dry morning for most although with a fair amount of cloud. There could be some bright spells in the east, although mist patches too. Increased cloud in the west bringing rain and drizzle to Ireland and western Scotland. Breezy in the west too. By this afternoon some outbreaks of drizzle and rain will be drifting into western Wales, northwest and southwest England with mist and fog affecting coasts and hills. Staying wet in western Scotland, the heaviest rain here. Periods of rain in Ireland, some of it heavy. Tending to be drier in central and eastern England, although cloudy. Tops at 11 to 14C.
Wednesday night A period of rain passes east through the whole of the UK this evening and overnight. The rain could be heavy and thundery at times. Becoming breezy for the south too. The rain should clear east through the early hours. Drier weather follow from the west with skies clearing and winds easing. Lows at 3C in Ireland, 5 to 8C over most of other areas.
Thursday A ridge of high pressure affecting the UK at first on Thursday morning. There will be some mist and fog patches in more sheltered areas too. These clear to leave sunny spells and mostly dry conditions with broken cloud. Winds will be increasing in Ireland with some drizzle around western and southern coasts. This drizzle also affects western coasts of England, Wales and Scotland in the afternoon. Highs at a cooler 8 to 11C.
Friday Showery rain over East Anglia, southeast and southern England at first on Friday morning as a cold front clears south. Brighter weather follows to much of Wales and England as well as eastern Scotland. Windy across Scotland with heavy showers in the west and north. Showers in western Ireland, but brighter and dry in the east. Highs near 9 to 12C for most, 14C in the southeast.
