Increasing cloud across southern England and the south of Wales today. This brings some spots of rain along southern coasts of England and a few showers to the west of Wales. Brighter for much of the Midlands and northern England as well as Ireland. A front moving south through Scotland brings outbreaks of rain, this turning to sleet and snow over the southern Grampians and southern Highlands. Brighter, colder weather follows to the north. Highs at 4C in northern Scotland, 6 to 10C for others.

Monday Night
A front bringing some rain and sleet over central Ireland, northern England as the northern parts of Wales, some snow on hills. Outbreaks of rain affecting southern coasts of England, dry for other parts of England. Cold across southern Scotland and much of Northern Ireland. Cold in northern Scotland with some snow showers, these persistent in Orkney and Shetland. Lows at -2 to 4C.

Tuesday
Cloud and some periods of rain and sleet affecting southern England and southern Wales on Tuesday morning, feeling much chiller too. The rain and sleet slowly clearing south during the day. Drier, brighter and colder through most of Wales, central and northern England although scattered showers in the west. Windier in Scotland, a risk of gales in the north and west where there will be frequent snow showers. A risk of blizzards over the central and northern hills. Highs at 4 to 7C.

Wednesday
A ridge of high pressure builds through Ireland on Wednesday bringing dry and cold weather as well as sunshine. Cloud increases here through the day with rain in the west. Cold for England, Wales and Scotland with a morning frost for many and plenty of sunshine. Some snow showers in northern and eastern Scotland as well as northeast England. The showers fade through the day with better spells of sunshine developing. Windy at first in the north and east the winds then easing fro the west. Highs at 3 to 7C.
