UK Forecast - May 15, 2017
Rain south & west
Showers north & west

Tuesday
Rather cloudy across much of England and Wales today. Rain affects northern England, SW England and Wales, this edging slowly southeastwards and becoming increasingly patchy through the day. Extensive low cloud affects western and southern coasts and hills although the cloud breaks in southeast England to allow a few brighter spells here until rain arrives in the afternoon. A band of showery rain will pass east into Ireland in the morning and then through Scotland in the afternoon, windier here too. Brighter weather follows into Ireland in the afternoon and western Scotland in the evening. Highs at 22C in southeast England in any sunshine, more generally 15 to 17C.

Tuesday Night
An intensification of the rainfall across southern and southeastern England during tonight. This may extend into the southern and eastern Midlands as well. Scattered showers in western Scotland and western Ireland. Drier elsewhere with broken cloud and clearer skies. Lows at 7 to 12C.

Wednesday
A shallow area of low pressure deepens across the southeast of the UK on Wednesday. This encourages an area of rain to intensify over much of England bringing some heavy periods of rain, especially in central, southern and eastern areas. Probably drier in western Wales and Scotland together with the far northwest of England. Scattered showers in Ireland and Scotland but some sunny spells too. Highs at 9 to 14C

Thursday
Low pressure extends through the UK and Ireland on Thursday. There will be a mix of sunny spells and showers, these will be heavy at times. The showers could be thundery in places, especially Scotland and Ireland where they could merge into longer spells of rain. Still a risk of heavy showers further south but these probably not as widespread as further north. Highs at 15 to 19C.
