Thursday
A weakening cold front edges southeast through Ireland and Scotland on Thursday. The front brings a fair amount of cloud but only small amounts of rain. As it reaches the Pennines and Ireland in the afternoon a few showers may be triggered. England and Wales as well as much of southern Ireland start the day dry, sunny and warm. There will be some cloud bubbling up as the morning progresses and this triggers some showers, the focus for these in central, southern and southeast England, mostly over high ground. The showers could be thundery and locally heavy. Turning colder behind the cold front in the northwest with tops of 17C in northern Scotland but more widely 23 to 28C.

Thursday Night
Evening scattered showers should fade quickly into the first part of the night. Clear skies developing. Cloud will tend to increase in the north and west although it should stay dry. A few mist patches affecting southeast England. Lows at 8 to 13C.

 
 
 

Friday
A slack but high pressure flow affects the UK and Ireland on Friday as the remnants of the cold front clear southern England later on. There will be sunny spells for most areas and it should be dry. Probably more cloud around for most than on recent days. Isolated showers form in the afternoon over hills of Ireland, Wales and southeast England. Highs at 22 to 29C.
 

Saturday
High pressure is centred over or just to the east of the UK on Saturday. This allows for lots of sunshine once again. The heat of the day may trigger a few heavy showers over the hills of southern England, Wales and Scotland. Sea breezes develop in the afternoon making the beaches feel cooler. Highs at 23 to 29C.
