Showers for the weekend
Wet, windy Monday

Saturday
A slack, northerly flow on Saturday. It is going to be another chilly day. Morning sunshine will be giving way to developing cloud, especially over high ground, with some showers developing during the morning. Further showers into the afternoon with these being heavy and thundery in places. The heaviest of the showers will be focussed over Wales and southern England as well as the northern Pennines and Scottish hills. Highs at 8 to 14C.

Saturday Night
Showers generally fading from most areas into Saturday evening though one or two may affect coastal areas to the north and west overnight at times. Some cloud around over Scotland and Ireland, clearer skies over much of England and Wales. A few isolated spots of mist or fog may form in sheltered areas. Overnight lows typically range from -1 to 3C allowing a patchy frost to form once again.

Sunday
A weak ridge of high pressure builds through Sunday. There will be broken cloud and some bright or sunny spells at first. Cloud is going to be increasing with some showers forming and these will be continuing into the afternoon. Most showers in eastern Scotland, northeast England, the Midlands and southern England too. Staying chilly with high temperatures of 7 to 15C.

Holiday Monday
A deep area of low pressure is expected to be passing eastwards through the British Isles on Monday. This brings strong winds and rain, heavy at times. The focus for most of the rain is likely across southern and western areas while the Scottish mountains could see heavy snowfall for a time. The far north of Scotland may stay dry. Highs at 5 or 6C in the north, more widely 9 to 13C.
