Showers, outbreaks of rain west
Drier, brighter east

Monday
Low pressure is to the northwest of the UK on Monday. This brings showery outbreaks of rain to northern parts of the island of Ireland and western Scotland. Some wintry showers over the hills of western Scotland too. Tending to be drier for most other areas though a front brings persistent and sometimes heavy rain into the southeast of the UK. A few showers develop later too for southern Ireland and southwest England. Highs widely at 3 to 7C, 8 or 9C to the far southeast and southwest.

Monday Night
Outbreaks of rain spread further across southeastern England through Monday night and into Tuesday morning. Elsewhere showers and showery outbreaks of rain continue for western parts of the UK and Ireland. These readily turn to snow over the Scottish mountains. Overnight lows at -1 to 1C for many, 4 to 7C under cloud to the southeast.

Tuesday
Low pressure well to the west of Ireland on Tuesday while a weak ridge builds over the British Isles bringing plenty of bright sunshine. Scattered showers in western parts of the UK and along southern coasts. More persistent rain for southeast England though this tends to clear to the northeast through the afternoon. Many areas will be dry although rather misty with a risk of fog at first. Cloud builds into the southwest of Ireland later. High temperatures at 2 to 6C for most, 7 or 8C to the far southwest and southeast.

Wednesday
Low pressure over and west of Ireland on Wednesday brings periods of rain to Ireland. A dry and bright day for much of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland though cloud builds across southwestern areas later. A windy day for Ireland and the southwest UK. High temperatures at 1 to 9C.
