A chilly day ahead with a north to northeast breeze affecting all areas. There will be showers across north east England and eastern parts of Ireland as well as North East Scotland in the morning. The best of any sunshine across central and southern parts of England. A tendency for the showers to become more widespread across north east England and eastern Scotland through the day, a few showers breaking out to in the Midlands and across Wales. Eastern and central Ireland also seeing one or two heavy showers. Highs at 9 to 12C.

Thursday Night
Showers will be fading away from most areas through this evening and skies will become clear. A few showers continuing to affect North East Scotland and the north eastern coast of England. There could also be one or two showers over high ground of Southwest England and central Ireland. And the clear skies and with light winds a slight frost will form in sheltered areas. Lows at 0 to 4C.

Friday
A bright start to Friday morning for many areas with some good spells of sunshine. However cloud is going to be quickly developing and showers will fall. The showers will continue into the afternoon and these could become heavy and thundery in places. They may also be wintry over the high ground of Scotland. The heaviest of the showers are likely across Wales and southern England where they could be thundery. A further area of heavy showers is probably going to be afecting the Pennines and the hills of central and eastern Scotland. Temperatures at 9 to 14C.

Saturday
A slack, northerly flow on Saturday. It is going to be another chilly day. Morning sunshine will be giving way to developing cloud, especially over high ground, with some showers developing during the morning. Further showers into the afternoon withe these being heavy and thundery in places. Most of the showers will be focussed over Wales and southern England as well as the northern Pennines and Scottish hills. Highs at 8 to 14C.
