Monday
A deep area of low pressure will be west of Ireland sending fronts across the UK and Ireland that take high winds and outbreaks of rain east on Monday. The rain could be heavy in the west, probably not reaching eastern parts of England and Scotland until later in the evening. Winds will be gale force or stronger to the west, reaching storm force for western coastal areas. Brighter conditions follow for Ireland but showers will persist to the west. High temperatures at 5 to 10C.

Monday Night
Rain clears far eastern parts of the UK overnight leaving drier conditions behind. Showers persist for western areas, these continuing to fall as snow over higher ground. Clearer skies for central and eastern areas. Staying very windy overnight, especially to the north, though winds ease slightly to the south. Overnight lows at 0 to 7C, mildest to the southeast.
 

Tuesday
Low pressure to the northwest of Scotland brings a milder southwesterly flow across southern parts of the UK and Ireland. A separate area of low pressure develops to the southwest bringing heavy rain and gales to Ireland, Wales and much of England through the morning. This reaches Scotland later where it falls as snow over hills and mountains. Highs at 3 to 5C for much of Scotland and northwest Ireland, 10 to 13C for much of England, Wales and southeast Ireland.

Wednesday
A brighter day on Wednesday with a strong westerly flow over the UK and Ireland. This brings frequent showers to western areas, which will fall as snow over higher ground. Eastern areas staying drier and brighter. A band of heavy rain may develop to the north of Scotland bringing heavy falls of snow to the Scottish Highlands. Staying breezy. Chilly with highs at 4 to 9C.
