Friday
High pressure brings a fine day to Britain and Ireland. A weakening cold front will have cleared southwards overnight, leaving clearing skies and plenty of sunshine during the daytime. Early fog patches will soon clear. Light north to north-westerly winds, although quite breezy in northern Scotland, and also along North Sea coasts. Western Scotland may draw in cloudy skies from the Atlantic. Cooler than recently, 11 to 15C.

Friday night
Westerly winds will strengthen overnight as high pressure becomes focused toward the south-west. Weak fronts moving in from the Atlantic bring thickening cloud to most areas, although the south & east will see clear spells for a time. A little rain or drizzle developing for western Scotland & Northern Ireland. Temperatures 7 to 10C, but locally 5C in Wales & southern England where winds remain light, with local fog patches possible.

Saturday
A blustery day with strong westerly winds affecting the British Isles. High pressure lies to the south-west, whilst low pressure will be over Scandinavia. Weak fronts pass eastwards producing a lot of cloud. Drizzly rain for western coasts and hills, which may be locally persistent, but total rainfall small. Central & south-eastern areas should stay largely dry, with some cloud breaks possible. Fairly mild at 12 to 16C.

Sunday
A cool day for all as winds turn northerly. Bright with sunny spells for many places. Showers likely for eastern coasts, and also northern Scotland, which may be frequent at times. Falling as snow across the Scottish mountains, perhaps to quite low levels. Brisk northerly winds will make it feel cold, strongest around North Sea coasts. Temperatures reaching 11 to 13C in central-southern areas, but may struggle at 7 to 10C in Scotland.
