Sunshine and heavy showers
Blustery, fairly cool

Monday
Low pressure lies across northern Britain. Frequent showers for Scotland, Ireland and western areas of England & Wales, heavy bursts with local thunder and squally winds. A scattering of heavy showers will advance east across central & southern England by afternoon, but the south-east should escape largely dry with plenty of sun. Breezy, south-westerly winds, strongest in the west. Highs 14 to 18C west & north, 19 to 22C south & east.

Monday night
Showers will fade from most places into the evening and night, but will continue around windward coasts in the west, giving locally frequent rain. Cloud breaking to give clear spells for inland and eastern areas. A south to south-westerly breeze, strongest around coasts. Temperatures 10 to 13C, but dipping into single figures for rural parts in the north & west of Britain, also Ireland, locally 5C some Scottish glens.

Tuesday
A weakening area of low pressure lies to the north. A showery pattern again for west & northern Britain, also Northern Ireland. Some local thundery downpours breaking out, these spreading from the west into central & eastern areas by afternoon, but few if any reaching the far south-east of England. Sunny spells, best in the east. A south-westerly breeze, gusty around showers. Highs 15 to 18C north & west, 21 to 24C south & east.

Wednesday
A developing low moves in from the Atlantic. Rain spreads into south-west England & Wales in the morning, and gradually extends to central areas in the afternoon. Eastern counties should be dry for many hours, whilst toward north-east England and northern Scotland, it may stay dry all day. Rain on and off for Ireland. Southerly winds freshening, strongest in south-west, risk coastal gales. Quite humid, 19 to 25C, warmest east.
