High pressure lies across southern Britain, bringing fair weather to most places. Plenty of sunshine in central & southern Britain, whilst weak fronts bring cloudy skies to the north & west. A little rain or drizzle for western Scotland & Northern Ireland, plus a south-westerly breeze. Little wind for England & Wales. After a cold start, temperatures will rise to 11 to 14C, warmest in southern England, also eastern Scotland.

Wednesday night
Cloudy skies persist for many places overnight, preventing a frost for much of the country. Local cloud breaks toward the south, and also to the east of high ground, may see temperatures dip to 2 or 3C in rural areas. Generally dry. A little rain for north-western Britain, perhaps patches of drizzly rain extending into the Midlands where cloud is thickest. Minimum temperatures generally between 4 and 7C.

Thursday
High pressure becomes centred toward the south-west. A lot of cloud for many areas - the best of any sunshine typically to the lee of high ground in the north-east, and also around coasts in the south-west. Dry for many, but weak fronts bring patches of drizzly rain to coasts and hills in the north-west, perhaps locally reaching central areas. Light west to north-westerly winds, strongest in Scotland. Highs 12 to 16C, warmest east.

Friday
A weak cold front moves into Scotland, bringing a little rain. Much of Britain and Ireland will stay dry, with sunny spells, best in the south & east. A west to north-westerly breeze, but winds light in the south-west. Temperatures 10C in northern Scotland, 12 to 14C for Northern Ireland & north-west England & Wales, up to 15 to 17C for the Midlands & south.
