Turning Colder For All
Drier Weather For Many

Friday
Low pressure continues to dominate to end the week across many areas maintaining a rather messy weather picture across the British Isles with some showery weather at times, along with some drier and brighter weather at times too. Increasing risk across Scotland of some wintry weather as colder weather arrives here from the north-east through the day, still relatively mild though in the south. Highs 3C to 9C.

Friday Night
Mostly cloudy night ahead for most with further patchy rain and showers slowly moving southwards and with some wintry precipitation on northern hills. A more pronounced change to drier, clearer and colder weather is expected across Scotland and then the far north of England by the end of the night, along with a developing marked wind-chill factor in association with a fresh E or NE'ly wind. Lows -2C to 6C, highest in the far south.

Saturday
It will turn colder for all from the north-east with residual overnight rain, sleet and some hill snow across S England slowly clearing away through the day and with then snow flurries developing across more northern and eastern regions. Otherwise, a lot of dry weather for many with plenty of winter sunshine, especially in the west but cold or very cold for all especially in a moderate or fresh E or NE'ly wind this bringing a marked wind-chill factor too. Highs 1C to 5C.

Sunday
A very cold start to Sunday is expected with a harsh and perhaps locally severe frost in places, especially N England and Scotland. After that high pressure dominates so a mainly dry day for many areas with some bright or sunny spells. While winds will be lighter for most, there will continue to be a bitterly cold E'ly breeze across the far south of England through the day. Frost soon returning through the mid-to-late afternoon onwards. Highs 1C to 4C.
