Tuesday
A frosty start for many on Tuesday before a low pressure system to the northwest sends a frontal system across the UK and Ireland. Cloud wil build from the southwest through the morning with rain covering Ireland and Wales, western parts of Scotland and southwest England by lunchtime. South Wales could see some particularly heavy bursts. Rain will continue to spread eastward through the afternoon reaching most areas with the exceptions of northeastern parts of Scotland and England. Rain will turn to snow on higher ground over Scotland. Strong winds too for the northern half of the country, reaching gale force for northwestern Ireland and western and northern parts of Scotland. High temperatures at 5 to 12C.

Tuesday Night
A mostly cloudy night across the UK and Ireland though rain should ease for most areas to leave a dry night. The exception to this is the southeast of England where rain could persist through the night. Winds will ease over most areas too. Overnight lows falling to 0 to 7C for most, staying at 9 to 10C in the southeast where cloud and rain persist.
 

Wednesday
Low pressure is off to the northwest on Wednesday bringing a mixed day of sunny spells and showers. Showers will be mainly focussed in western areas and the southeast of England. Parts of western Scotland could see these showers merging to form more prolonged spells of rain and they will likely turn wintry over higher ground. Breezy for the island of Ireland and western Scotland. Highs at 5 to 9C.

Thursday
Unsettled day on Thursday as an area of low pressure lies to the northwest of Scotland. A westerly airstream will lead to a rather overcast day for most of the country. Western areas could see persistent rain throughout the day while some showers could reach eastern parts of Scotland and England. A windy day for Ireland, Irish Sea coasts and Channel coasts. High temperatures at 4 to 9C.
